MX ADDRESSABLE FIRE DETECTION

The heat sensing element of the 850H detector uses a single thermistor to produce an output proportional to temperature. Using the proven SmartSense algorithm, the CIE  interprets the returned values, generating an alarm as a result of either the temperature  above a threshold or the rate of rise of temperature is above a threshold.

The VLC-800MX LaserCOMPACT detector has been specifically designed to provide all the benefits of aspirating smoke detection, in single small areas where space is a premium. The VLC-800MX communicates directly with the CIE. via the MX loop detecting smoke by using proven VESDA aspirating technology.

The CP820 Manual Call Point has a plastic coated frangible element to ensure safe and reliable operation, producing no dangerous glass shards. It is operated by simply pressing on the centre of the frangible element until it snaps. The snapped frangible element releases a microswitch, which signals an alarm at the CIE.

The CP830 Manual Call Point has an IP rating of IP67, making it suitable for outdoor applications. The D51MX Duct Sampling Unit is designed to sample air in air conditioning ducts and pass it through a 814PH smoke detector. The D51B is fixed on the outside of the duct to be sampled, allowing easy access for detector servicing and replacement of the dust filter.

The 4B-I Isolator base serves as both a base for MX detectors and a protection device against short circuits on the MX addressable loop. It monitors the voltage on the loop and when a short circuit is detected, isolates the affected section whilst allowing the rest of the loop to function normally.

The 4B-C Continuity base is used for most installations, maintaining loop continuity when the detector is removed and utilising the 850 Series detector’s in-built short circuit isolation function.

The 4B Universal base is used where a short circuit isolation function is not required.

The Ceiling Tile Adaptor (CTA) is used to prepare a ceiling tile to be able to accept a complete base and detector assembly. It comprises a Bezel, Clamp, and Back Box.

The 814RB Addressable Relay Base provides two sets of changeover volt-free relay contacts capable of switching 1A (resistive) @30VDC. The relay function is controlled by the Tyco MX4428 Control and Indicating Equipment (CIE) via the detector fitted to the 814RB. The 814RB may be mounted to the ceiling, plugged into a Universal Base or an 814IB Isolator Base.

The 802SB Addressable Sounder Base provides Temporal3 tones on MX addressable systems and is designed for indoor use. It requires an associated detector in order to operate, as it uses the address of the detector that is fitted to it.

The CIM800 Addressable Contact Input Module supervises 2 circuits of voltage-free contacts, i.e. outputs from extinguishing systems, ventilation controls, fire door controls, sprinkler flow switches, non indicating detectors, etc.

The DDM800 Universal Fire & Gas Detector Module is an MX addressable module that can be used to connect zones of existing conventional 20V detectors or 4-20mA detectors and interface them with an MX addressable fire alarm system.

The DIM800 Detector Input Module interfaces two collective detector circuits onto the MX addressable loop. Each circuit can support 3mA of detector current and requires a 4k7 Ohm EOL resistor. The DIM800 requires a suitably rated external 24V supply to power the detector circuits.

The LPAV800R Indoor Red Sounder/Beacon with mounting box, is to be used on the MX addressable loop. It has two volume settings and two flash rates, which are programmable using the 850EMT. The LPAV800R uses two consecutive MX addresses, and features an in-built line isolator.

The MIM800 Mini Input Modules supervise one circuit of voltage-free contacts and transmits its state to the CIE. They can be programmed to supervise either Normally Open or Normally Closed contacts. The default MIM800 setting is to supervise Normally Open contacts.

The RIM800 Relay Interface Module provides one volt-free changeover contact which is not supervised. The relay is controlled by a command sent from the CIE via the MX addressable loop and may be used to signal states to other systems (eg security systems) or to energise loads such as Door Holders.

The SAB801/SAM800 Sounder Addressing Module and Sounder Addressing Beacon are used to supply the address decoding in place of a detector, thus providing a remotely controlled sounder when used in conjunction with an 802SB or 901SB sounder base.

The SNM800 Sounder Notification Module has a switched output that may be used to power sounders, extinguishing devices or other auxiliary equipment. The output is activated in response to a command from the CIE. Both the wiring and power supply to the controlled devices can be supervised.

The MIO800 Addressable Multi-I/O Module has three inputs and two outputs from latching relays that communicates with compatible MX CIE.

The VIO800 is an arrangement of the MIO800 Addressable Multi-I/O Module supplied fitted with on to a mounting bracket suitable for internal installation within a VESDA LaserPLUS or LaserSCANNER. The I/Os are wired to the relay outputs and control inputs of the VESDA to allow compatible MX CIE to monitor & control the VESDA units.

The MX range of Modules can be fitted to a double-gang back box using the M520 Ancillary Cover. The MX modules may be mounted in the M520 cover which is then fastened to a back box such as the K2142.

The K2142 back box is a double-gang style mounting box that is compatible with the M520 Ancillary Cover. Used together, the M520 and K2142 provide a convenient mounting system for the MX addressable modules.

The MX Loop Tester can be used to test, commission and fault-find a loop of MX analogue addressable detectors and ancillary devices, without having to connect the loop to a fire panel. Up to 250 MX devices may be connected. Several operating modes, One Person Installation, Addressing and Walk Test allow new devices to be installed, addressed and field tested.

The 850EMT is a commissioning tool that communicates with 850 Series fire devices via a two-way infrared link. With a QVGA touch screen and intuitive menus, it is designed to speed up and simplify installation and commissioning, reduce the possibility of engineering error and improve health and safety by minimising the need for working at height.
